1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how Focus Fuel (the "App"), provided by Tech Verticks LLC ("Focus Fuel", "we", "us", or "our"), collects, uses, and protects information when you use the App. We built Focus Fuel to help you build better focus and habits, and we designed it to keep as much of your data as possible on your own device.
By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. Who we are & scope
Focus Fuel is published by Tech Verticks LLC. This Policy applies to the Focus Fuel iOS application and does not apply to any third-party services, websites, or products that we do not control, even if they are linked from or integrated with the App (for example, Apple's App Store).
3. Information we collect
We aim to collect as little personal information as possible. Depending on how you use the App, the following categories may be involved:
- Activity & challenge data — information you generate by completing focus sessions and real-world challenges (such as walks, push-ups, squats, planks, and meditation), including reps, durations, Energy Points, streaks, achievements, and your Fuel Score. This data is processed on your device.
- Apple Health data — if you grant permission, the App reads activity metrics (such as steps or workouts) from Apple Health to verify and credit certain challenges. This is read on-device only.
- Camera input — if you use camera-based rep counting, the live camera feed is analyzed on your device to count repetitions in real time.
- Purchase & subscription information — when you buy a subscription or one-time purchase, Apple and our in-app purchase/paywall provider (Superwall) process the transaction and related events.
- Device & diagnostic information — limited technical information such as device type, operating system version, app version, and anonymized or pseudonymous identifiers may be collected by our purchase analytics provider to operate, secure, and improve the App.
- Preferences & settings — choices you make in the App, such as session lengths, notification preferences, and profile settings, stored to personalize your experience.
4. On-device processing
Your activity and challenge data is processed on your device. Camera-based rep counting runs locally using on-device intelligence — the App is designed so that your camera feed is analyzed in real time on the device and is not uploaded to us for that purpose. Where the App stores your progress (such as streaks, points, and Fuel Score), it is stored on your device and, if you enable Apple's iCloud features, may sync through your private Apple iCloud account under Apple's terms rather than to our own servers.
5. Apple Health & camera data
The App can request permission to read certain data from Apple Health to support challenges and progress tracking. We only request access to the data types needed for the features you use, and you can review or revoke this access at any time in the iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices menu.
We never sell your Apple Health data, and we do not use it for advertising. Apple Health data is read on-device only to power features such as challenge verification and statistics. Likewise, camera data used for rep counting is processed on-device and is not sold or used for advertising.
Our use of Apple HealthKit data complies with Apple's requirements, including the restriction that HealthKit data must not be used for advertising or other use-based data mining beyond providing health and fitness services, and must not be shared with third parties without your permission.
6. Purchases, subscriptions & analytics
Subscriptions and one-time purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes your payment; we do not receive or store your full payment card details.
We use the Superwall SDK to present and manage paywalls and to measure purchase and subscription events. To do this, Superwall may collect purchase-related events and device identifiers (which may include pseudonymous or advertising-style identifiers) for analytics and to deliver and optimize the in-app purchase experience. This information is used to operate the paywall, attribute purchases, prevent fraud, and improve the App. Superwall acts as our service provider for these purposes. You can learn more in Superwall's own privacy documentation.
7. How we use information
- To provide core features: focus sessions, real-world challenges, Energy Points, streaks, achievements, and your Fuel Score.
- To verify and credit challenges using Apple Health and on-device camera analysis (with your permission).
- To process and manage purchases and subscriptions, and to restore previous purchases.
- To maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the App.
- To communicate with you about support requests you send us.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
8. Sharing & disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We may share limited information only in these circumstances:
- Service providers — with vendors who help us operate the App, such as Apple (App Store and payment processing) and Superwall (paywall and purchase analytics), strictly to perform services for us.
- Legal & safety — when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users, the public, or Tech Verticks LLC.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will require the recipient to honor this Policy or notify you of any material change.
9. No sale of personal data / no ad tracking
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use third-party advertising networks or cross-app ad tracking inside the App. We do not use your Apple Health data, camera data, or activity data for advertising or for building advertising profiles.
10. Data retention
Activity and challenge data stored on your device remains until you delete it or uninstall the App (subject to any iCloud backups you control through Apple). Purchase and analytics events processed by Apple and Superwall are retained according to their respective policies and our legitimate business needs, such as fraud prevention and accounting. If you contact support, we keep your correspondence only as long as needed to assist you and for reasonable record-keeping.
11. Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information, including relying on Apple's platform security and on-device processing where feasible. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your device and Apple account secure.
12. Children & Family Sharing
Focus Fuel is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you enable a Family plan via Apple Family Sharing, the organizer is responsible for purchases and for supervising children's use in accordance with Apple's Family Sharing and Screen Time settings.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us at the email below and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
13. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. You can exercise many choices directly:
- Revoke Apple Health access in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices.
- Revoke camera access in iOS Settings → Focus Fuel.
- Manage or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
- Delete on-device data by deleting your data in-app or uninstalling the App.
To make a privacy request that we can act on directly, email us at techverticks.apple@gmail.com. We will respond consistent with applicable law. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
14. International users
We operate from the United States. If you use the App from outside the United States, you understand that information handled by our service providers (such as Apple and Superwall) may be processed in the United States or other countries with data protection laws that differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate legal mechanisms for such processing.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
